Abstract
The European project “Quantum Pilot Line for the Production of Advanced Chips for Neutral-Atom European Technologies -Specific Grant Agreement 1” aims to establish a robust pan-European pilot production line for the development and industrial deployment of quantum chips based on neutral atom technology. These platforms have high potential for applications in quantum computing, quantum simulation, and quantum sensing; however, their evolution toward complex and reproducible systems is constrained by the complexity and lack of scalability of conventional infrastructures.
The projct is aimed at the development and validation of advanced photonic and optoelectronic technologies intended to overcome the main technological bottlenecks that limit the scalability of quantum platforms based on neutral atoms.
CINN, a technology validation partner
The CSIC, through the Quantum Simulations Laboratory of the Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Research Center (CINN) led by Daniel Barredo, acts as a final user and as a scientific‑technical partner specialized in advanced validation. The CSIC contribution is mainly focused on the analysis and validation of chip‑based laser systems operating at 1013 nm, a wavelength that is critical for the excitation of Rydberg states in rubidium atoms and is used in CSIC laboratories dedicated to quantum simulation and computation with neutral atoms.
