Periodontal and Peri Implant Diseases

Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Research Center (CINN) has developed a long lasting non-invasive dental solution for patients with periodontal and peri-implant diseases, that is the 50% of the total population. This solution is based on antimicrobial coatings made from patented glassy materials (Inorganic antimicrobials). These antimicrobial glassy coatings have proven to be a useful tool to ward off, diminish, or delay periodontitis/peri-implantitis. No health risk or hazard was identified during the clinical and analytical evaluations performed in animals throughout the tests. These glassy coatings can be sleekly located over tooth, implants, abutments, and aesthetic structures with engineered surfaces to avoid the devastating effects of these diseases, providing effective prevention of bacterial growth and biofilm formation, which is directly associated with these illnesses.
