Preparation of histological sections for implantology
The CINN has a laboratory for the preparation of histological sections in biological samples with metal or ceramic implants.

Equipment
The Laboratory is equipped with specific cutting and polishing systems for hard materials. Using these equipments it is possible to prepare samples that can’t be processed with conventional techniques, such as samples containing metal or ceramic implants.

Services Offered
The procedure consists of the following steps:
- Cutting of the different implants
- Dehydration in increasing concentrations of ethanol
- Inclusion of the sample in resin by photopolymerization
- Successive stages of cutting and gluing on slides
- Polishing of the sample to get a thin sheet
